Leslie Kinton and James Anagnoson

What Leslie Kinton and James Anagnoson described as “dumb luck”, the likes of teachers and mentors Gina Bachauer and Eugene List recognized as exceptional chemistry and talent and encouraged the two to dedicate themselves to a career as a piano duo team. From their initial meeting in 1974 in the basement of the Conservatory, to their four decades and over one thousand performances, it is no surprise why Anagnoson and Kinton are recognized as one of the world’s finest piano duos today.

Together they have performed with orchestras and in recitals across North America, Europe, China, and Russia and have always been met with critical acclaim. While they have embraced all manner of classical repertoire, the duo has commissioned a number of new compositions and has combined innovative choreography to some of their performances.

With nine discs (both CD and LP’s) spanning from 1979 to the their last release in 2013 with Piano Titans, they continue to be a mainstay on North American and European airwaves.

Even with their demanding piano duo career each are recognized scholars; James Anagnoson is the Dean of The Glenn Gould School and Leslie Kinton is a Professor of Piano at the University of Western Ontario and also on faculty at The Glenn Gould School.
